I have been in Alghero, Maria Pia Beach, last summer. From end June 2010 till end July 2010. I know Alghero very well. It as been our summer destination for years, since I was a child. Alghero as never been the cleanest city in Sardinia. The beaches as well are not extremely clean, but this is the "guests" of the beach fault.

Crystal clear green water, white sandy beach, pine forest around- Maria Pia is the best beach in Alghero! A lot of beach bars, restaurant on site. You can rent sun beds with umbrellas for moderate ( for Sardinia ) price! About 20 minutes by bus from city center or 7 minutes by car! Good parking options Hotel Oasis, behind Spiaggia di Maria Pia. Just a few steps behind the south section of Maria Pia beach, on Viale I Maggio, you'll find the four-star Hotel Oasis.This family-friendly hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and a mini golf course.
